Work With Me

Therapy in Session

I offer individual, in-person therapy sessions at my downtown Chico office.

What can you expect when you walk in the door?

First, we’ll get to know about each other. I’ll tell you a little about me and ask probing questions to understand your past and present concerns. Don’t worry — I never pry. You are free to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

After that, we’ll work to identify your goals for therapy and develop a treatment plan designed to help you achieve those goals.

Whether you deal with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, and/or relationship troubles, I can help. I blend proven and cutting-edge therapeutic techniques like CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to help you overcome any obstacle, no matter how impossibly large it may seem right now.

One promise I always make is this: you can count on our weekly sessions to be a safe and comfortable space where you are free to be yourself. Therapy does take work, but you’ll never be doing it alone. I’ll be alongside you the entire time, there to provide a stable base as you grow and move forward in your life.

Here are some of the things
I can help with.

Free yourself from constant worry and stress, and stop letting fear hold you back from doing the things you want.

Understand the underlying roots of your depression, and go back to enjoying all the wonderful things life has to offer.

Low Self-Esteem

Reframe and transform inner critic into a positive cheerleader, and stop letting doubt and uncertainty stand in your way.

Uncover the trauma causing you to feel hopeless or stuck acting out the same destructive patterns, then process your grief and finally move on to the happier, healthier life you deserve.

Relationship Troubles

Identify your relationship patterns, and learn healthier ways to approach current and/or future romances.

Therapeutic Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective therapeutic approach that helps you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. By examining the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and actions, CBT enables you to develop healthier coping strategies and improve your overall well-being.

By using CBT in our sessions, we will work together to:

  • Identify the thoughts and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress
  • Challenge and reframe negative thought patterns
  • Develop new coping skills and strategies for managing life’s stressors

CBT is particularly effective for treating issues like anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. If you’re looking to make lasting changes in your life, CBT may be the right fit for you.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a groundbreaking therapy that helps you process and heal from past traumas. Through a structured, eight-phase approach, EMDR helps you access and reprocess traumatic memories, allowing you to let go of the emotional burdens that have been holding you back.

In sessions when we use EMDR, we will work together to:

  • Identify and target specific traumatic memories or experiences
  • Process and release emotional distress associated with these memories
  • Develop new, adaptive beliefs about yourself and your experiences

EMDR is especially helpful for individuals struggling with the lingering effects of trauma, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. If you’re looking to heal from past traumas and find greater peace and freedom in your life, EMDR is an excellent option.

Of course, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach for every client. Work with me, and we’ll work together to identify your goals and select the right therapeutic approach(es) to meet them.
